This guide shows you the proper way to log out of Quickbooks and Remote Server to avoid damaging Quickbook files and also prevent errors such as Error H505 as seen below
To log out safely out of Quickbooks please use the following steps:
1. From Quickbooks, Open File > Close CompanyLogoff (1)
2. Once the company file is closed, the second step is to click on File > Exit (2)
3. After exiting Quickbooks, you can sign out of the remote server by clicking on the Start button then click on your profile icon and select "Sign Out" as seen below
This will ensure all applications are terminated and all sessions will also end.
Note: The main difference between "Disconnect" and "Sign Out" is that disconnecting will keep your applications still active. This can cause issues with certain applications such as Quickbooks
