FileVault is a whole-disk encryption program that is included with macOS.
All MacOS laptops will be enrolled in this policy to enable FileVault to protect all data stored in the hard drive. Make sure to follow these steps to complete setting up FileVault.
To enable FileVault please follow these steps:
- Click on the Apple menu in the top-left of your screen then click on Shut Down.
- You will see a prompt requesting your password. Please enter your password to start the process.
- After entering your password, FileVault will take a minute to complete the process.

Then your recovery key will be shown. Note: Please do not keep this information written down on your laptop, just click on "Continue" to complete this process.

Please note that after turning on FileVault there may be a 50-seconds delay to load your profile. This happens anytime you reboot or shut down your laptop only.
